Tammy says, “Age is just a number, my dreams don’t have expiration dates.” Never a truer word has been spoken for this active 55 year old woman. She is a wife, mother of the reigning Miss Jr. Teen Earth and helps her husband, Bruce, run the family business…Advanced Facilities Services.
She believes educating our children is the key to our future…teaching children to be all they can be while preserving the earth. She has been an avid volunteer for numerous organizations in the United States such as American Red Cross, Give to Orphan Kids and Volunteer Hampton Roads. Tammy has also traveled internationally helping, giving and volunteering in places such as Namibia, Belize, Mexico, Honduras and South Africa.
Staying active has always been an integral part of Tammy’s life. She attended college on track, cross country and academic scholarships. Later in life, she went on to play professional football, was a professional cheerleader, played on a traveling women’s softball team and had a short stint playing semi-pro two man volleyball. Additionally, she has been a coach for track, cross country cheerleading and soccer. Currently, she enjoys keeping fit by going to her local fitness club where she participates in kickboxing, spinning, Zumba and boot camp. Believe it or not, she will even be mushing for the second time in the opening ceremonies of the famous Iditarod dogsled race.
The future looks bright for Tammy as she plans to continue to live life to its fullest. She has numerous trips planned with her family to see the world and will be visiting Turks and Caicos as well as New Zealand in the upcoming months ahead. She will continue to lead by example as a role model to others while she pursues her dreams.
