Lana Henry Representing: California Hello I'm Lana Henry, Ms. Earth 2011. The duty of a pageant queen is to educate, encourage change, and make a difference.  I believe in advocating for many organizations and doing my part to be green to make the Earth a cleaner place. My Platform is empowering women and girls through leadership and pageantry.  I really do believe that success is not a destination but a journey, and my experiences in pageantry and leadership has made me the woman that I am today.  I strive to share my knowledge and experience with others.  I work with organizations where I have an opportunity to mentor and guide young girls/women.  The media chooses to focus on the negative aspects of pageants and unrealistic images of real women. I believe that by encouraging girls to stand up for their personal beliefs, be confident, and to participate in community service will help them develop their leadership, and communication/public speaking skills. Participating in pageantry helps foster a sense of sisterhood encouraging women to help build each other and stop tearing each other down as we so often see.  Join me in helping support another person's journey into womanhood.
